Add-on for Shutterstock updated to 0.29b

Some of You may already noticed the latest update of the SS SiteBoost tool. I always try to put information on the forums and after I get a positive response I post it on my blogs. That’s the way 0.29 got updated to B and C is waiting for the release.

Christmas and the New Year will surely stop me from releasing the 0.3 version. I planned  more useful features for it than just fixes and tweaks.  If that would be 100% my project I could add more stable features since the beginning and  without the stability of Shutterstock site HTML code (they can change anything anytime)  I need always to measure features vs. time ading new features and carefully search for the changes which isn’t to creative and pretty boring.

The funny part was that the new SS layout showed up one day after I have released the 0.28, when they didn’t change anything since years…

What’s new in 0.29b then? … it is a next maintenance release due the Shutterstock layout changes:

- Fixed Image Previews problems – they was too large on some pages
- Fixed Image Stats – there was problems with SS source data availability  and storing data
- Many visual and interface ergonomy fixes (Forum shortcut menu, Quick Edit is back  on Home Page thumbnails), improved several cross-browser compatibility issues and round corners got fixed – just switched to CSS3 and removed the releated plugin (unavailable only in IE 8 and below)

Before  Christmas I should release the 0.29c because there are few another issues found – it will be again only a mainenance release (altough I strongly suggest to use always the newest version).

If You have found any bugs or got some ideas, please comment anywhere the SSSB is announced. Here, on its home page,  on forums or message me on  Twitter.

Shutterstock user interface extender now as a Firefox add-on

I just updated the SS SiteBoost to work as a regular Firefox add-on.  It uses the same code  as all other versions of  therefore  there is no usability differences.
SSS is a web application addressed mainly to Shutterstock.com  contributors, improving  functionality, saving time, bandwidth and adding some breath to oversimplified inerface.

Because I need to ‘Keep It Simple S ‘,  just in case Shutterstock would change parts of its website (I’ll need then find and  update unknown amount of the code) , also to keep some reasonable timeframe and same functionality between all available versions, I’ll still work on the main script only and then convert it to other versions.

Additional possible browser extensions features (Firefox or Chrome) will be added only if necessary, already have some ideas to include for example in Firefox extension.

There are still many possible features waiting  so watch the update informations.

Add-on is listed now on Mozilla Add-ons page but at the moment I’ll host it on my server because of very frequent updates.
Actually I changed the status to hosted by Mozilla so it’s in the Sandbox and waiting for publication,  that’s why You may see  ”We’re sorry, but we can’t find what you’re looking for“.
Of course the most fresh version is always on my  site:  351.pl

Shutterstock addon – FAST EDITING keywords, title – photos and footage

Watch the original site of the SS SiteBoost Bookmarklet

v.0.02 b – added footage support – edit button under each clip and edit short cut after clicking the bookmarklet on selected clip page

What it does?

In a first place it adds a shortcut edit button to each photo in the portfolio
and a possibility to edit a photo metadata straight from its page.

You see that Edit button in Shutterstock gallery? You can enable it now.

Useful also for image buyers as a faster image previews and long titles display alternative.

It also adds to Shutterstock improved Image Previews for Chrome, Opera not only IE and FF or Safari.
